Excellent

Jerry, you have created another brilliant submission! I like how you brought your Ben character back into it! Is your friend the same character as your Dr. Dre character? My favorite part was probably the Nelly part, and I didn't know Jon was French! Anyway, I love your work and I hope you submit soon!

Nice!

I did enjoy watching this movie! You had a good taste in music by choosing the MK music, it matched the tone of your submission perfectly. I never have played River City Ransom, and I am trying to find out as much about it as I can. Is this what the game was really like? Anyway, I hope your score goes uo and I hope you get you own personal computer as soon as possible. And if it is okay with you, I recommended you for the RCR collection. Keep up the good work!

Genius!

You always have another flash up your sleeve, don't you? This was great. The voices you use are unmatchable, as they bring out the humor in your flashes. I;d love to submit this to a collection, but which one would you want it put into. Once the gas pump came in, his sudden voice scared the crap out of me. Throughout the whole thing, I couldn't help but to laugh. Congrats on the two awards and I hope to see more brilliancy from you soon!

Great!

SardonicSamurai, do not stop what you are doing! Flash after flash, you keep reeling in the fans. I especially like this gag of yours because we all think of the Psycho Mantis bit from the Metal Gear Games (he always knew I played Zelda!). Your animation skills, as always, are perplexing and brilliant. The physique you put on Mantis showed your skill as an animator. Keep the good work coming, and you have my recommendation for the Metal Gear collection!

It's really amazing...

How something so short, so simple, and so random can get an unbelievable score. As for me, I loved every second of it. It kind of reminded of the video for that song "Kryptonite" by 3 Doors Down, with all the lazy superheroes and junk. Anyway, your animation style is very simple, but unique. This should definately boost your popularity on the site. Congratulations on your award, and I will recommend you to the parodies collection. Keep the good work coming!

Excellent!

I enjoy many of the My Newgrounds flashes, and I'd say yours is second best (next to the original, of course). Moving right along, I like how you spoke not only about how Newgrounds impacts you, but about yourself as well. I'm sure many viewers would really like to know what you are like aside from Office Spider and whatnot. Congrats on your award and on making the collection. Bloc Party rules!

Hilarious!

I am new to your series, JKR, but I now want to watch all of your submissions! You are a very talented animator as well as a voice actor. Your monkey voice was very annoying, but it cracked me up the whole time. The DS bit was great, any joke with Final Fantasy in it is enough to make me laugh. I was just wondering, where do you get your inspiration? Your style and technique is quite perplexing. I wish you would have put the deleted scene in there, it was hysterical! Well, congratulations on your daily award and I hope that you keep submitting! See you in Toledo!

JKR responds:

Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it! To answer your questions as best I can, I get my inspiration for the content of the cartoons just naturally, I guess. My older cousin who actually does the music for the site was always funny when I was growing up, so I learned to also be funny since I wanted to be like him. (Except my music talents suck, but oh well!) I was originally inspired to bring Fred into the world of online cartoons because of Homestarrunner. I had no idea this thing called "Flash" existed, and I had always wanted to make cartoons. So I took the comic characters I had made in early middle school years before and gave them the animated treatment. The rest has been refining things for four years online now.

Also the reason I took out the deleted scene was simply because it broke the flow of the movie. The joke of Fred eating all the food in the house needed to be right after "Have fun in Ohio!" or it wasn't nearly as amusing. One thing I've learned how to keep making better is comedic timing, so I knew the scene had to go. But it was too good to let disappear, so I put it at the end. :)

Thanks for the great review and taking the time to write it all out! Happy to hear you're going to check out the other Fred toons. And don't forget there's a bunch more at FredtheMonkey.com that I didn't submit to Newgrounds (like the Mailbags which was another idea I got from Homestar, but has evolved into something more). Have a good day!

I think I just blurb'd myself.
